The Boysen Epoxy Primer with Curing Agent is a high-quality, two-component epoxy-polyamide system that offers exceptional adhesion to various surfaces such as steel tanks, galvanized iron, aluminum, and more.

This primer comes in a convenient 4-liter size and is available in three colors: B-2200 White with Curing Agent B-2202, B-2230 Gray with Curing Agent B-2202, and B-2277 Red Oxide with Curing Agent B-2202.

One of the standout features of this primer is its excellent corrosion resistance and sealing properties, making it perfect for use in coastal installations or on metal structures. Additionally, it is highly alkali-resistant which eliminates the need for neutralizing new concrete surfaces.

The Boysen Epoxy Primer also serves as a Curing Agent when compounded with the appropriate product. It can be applied to metal, wood, and concrete substrates for long-lasting durability. The dry time for this primer is approximately 2-3 hours for touch-ups and 8-12 hours for recoating.

With a theoretical coverage of 20-25 square meters per 4 liters (depending on surface texture and porosity), this epoxy primer offers great value for your money. It does not require tinting but can be thinned using BOYSEN® Epoxy Reducer B-55 if necessary.

For easy clean-up after application, BOYSEN® Epoxy Reducer B-55 can be used as the solvent. The packaging includes a 4-liter container for the epoxy primer while the curing agent comes in separate 1-liter cans.

Overall, the Boysen Epoxy Primer with Curing Agent provides exceptional adhesion and corrosion resistance on various surfaces while offering easy application methods by brush or spray.

How we rank

Meta-rankings combine expert endorsements.

ReviewFinder's formal aggregated ranking is a combination of our meta-rankings and consumer score.

Meta-rankings are a combination of all expert reviews we can find on the Internet. When present, meta-rankings are the strongest ranking signal (we trust experts more than consumers).

Consumer score is calculated from customer reviews.

Not all categories have enough expert endorsements online - in such cases we use consumer score weighted by historical brand prominence in the niche (brands that historically specialize in a certain category get a slight bump in that category rankings). Consumer score is a normalized 0-10 score based on customer reviews.

Recently we removed price form our rankings - it no longer affects recommendations. Whether to go budget or premium is consumer's choice, not ours.
