- Feasibility/Case Study: Another way to decide what waterproof membrane is best for your building is to see that membrane in action. You can request to see a building where the membrane has been used to see its effectiveness and its quality.
- Below Ground or Above Ground: This refers to whether the structure to be waterproofed is below the ground or above the ground. This information also helps to determine the type of membrane that should be used. For example, an above-grade structure will require a breathable membrane, that is, a membrane that will allow water vapor to escape. A below-ground structure on the other hand will need a membrane that is resistant to chemical erosion and possesses a low absorption rate.
