These include construction, delivery of paper packages, electronic devices, clothing, etc. In construction, waterproofing can be done at several levels of the building. One of the most common of such is the roof of the house, to prevent leakages and draining. Waterproofing can also be done for the walls, below the ground structures, amongst several others. The nature of the building also determines where the waterproofing membrane will be applied.

This refers to a layer of water-resistant material that is laid over a surface to prevent the effect of water on such a surface. These membranes are usually very thin- layered with most being just about 2mm-4mm thick. Waterproof membranes are commonly used in construction and building. There are two major types of membranes namely liquid-based membranes and sheet-based membranes.
The kind of membrane that will be used in construction depends on the features of the membrane and the nature of the construction. Here are some of the features and strategies that you should check out before deciding on a membrane:
Various chemicals are used in waterproofing products and materials, they include chloride, polyvinyl, Hypalon, Tar paper, bituminous materials, Asphalt materials, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, among several others. It is important to note that the chemicals used also depend on the intended use of waterproofing products. For example, the products that will be used for a waterproof spray for fabric will be different from those used in waterproof products for construction.
There are several ways to make your clothes waterproof such as the use of detergent and alum powder, the use of natural beeswax, and other homemade or DIY methods of making clothes waterproof. There is also the use of waterproofing products such as waterproof sprays and waterproof liquids. A waterproof spray is applied to a fabric to ensure that it is water repellant, waterproof liquid also does the same thing, however, it is usually applied at the time of washing the fabric or clothing material.
A waterproof liquid often comes with instructions on what quantity of the liquid should be poured into the washing machine. Once poured the liquid goes to work on the material making it water repellant. For water sprays, the ideal thing is to ensure that your jacket or material is clean, to ensure that the spray is effective. Apply the spray to the material and then hang outside to dry. In case you have added excess spray just clean it off the material.
Just like with clothes, there are many ways to make your electronic devices waterproof. There are DIY methods that involve the use of silicone coating and careful application with a brush, there are also waterproof sprays that are designed for electronics.
